THE MAY FLOWERS FROM APRIL SHOWERS: BOOKS WITH FLOWERS ON THE COVER

A month ago we had a list all about books with April showers, so naturally it’s only fun and fair to feature books with flowers on the cover. As it’s May, those flowers are blooming and pretty, and spring has certainly set in. So let’s lean into spring and see what books do the same.

Some of these we have featured multiple times, as is true of many of our lists, and others are titles we don’t feature as much. No matter how much we try to feature some different ones from week to week, I know I repeat too often, but when I try to limit things to what I have on my shelves, well, that can be a challenge. Let’s see what we find for books with flowers on the cover.

BOOKS WITH FLOWERS ON THE COVER

ANYTHING by KATHERINE CENTER

How cute is the cover art of Katherine Center’s novels? Add in the fact that I loved the first novel I read by Katherine in 2023, and reading more by her is high on my must list. Goodreads

THE VIEW FROM RAINSHADOW BAY, COLLEEN COBLE

I had to include this one as a kind of throwback to our April showers list (because of the ‘rainshadow’ title). It also fits nicely with all of those beautiful purple flowers! Goodreads

A SECRET PRINCESS, MELISSA DE LA CRUZ and MARGARET STOHL

Loved Jo and Laurie, so I’m hoping I also enjoy this re-telling (or mashup?) of A Little Princess meets The Secret Garden. Goodreads

TOKYO EVER AFTER, EMIKO JEAN

This one caught my eye (if I remember right) because it’s kind of teased as a Princess Diaries retelling, and I am HERE for that. But it’s one I’m wondering if I should keep since I haven’t read it. Is it worth it? Goodreads

WHAT I CARRY, JENNIFER LONGO

Have had this one on my shelf for a long time! Has anyone else read it, and is it good? Trying to prep for my next unhaul/reorganization, and I feel like LOTS of books need to go. Goodreads

OF LITERATURE AND LATTES, KATHERINE REAY

Love Katherine’s books. Haven’t read this one yet though. It follows a woman who returns home after a bad experience working in Silicon Valley, and an FBI investigation. Goodreads

WELL, THAT WAS UNEXPECTED, JESSE Q. SUTANTO

Follows a girl who is sent to Indonesia after her mother finds her in a well, compromising, situation. Goodreads

THE HEART SHOT, EMILY SCHNEIDER

Yes, I’ve featured this one multiple times. But how can we not feature it again when it fits so well with this topic? Goodreads

PRETTY LITTLE PIECES, CARMEN SCHOBER

This book sounds so interesting about the life of an influencer, and the cover seems to reflect some cracks in that life, but also makes it look pretty with the little blue flowers. Goodreads

AS SEEN ON TV, MEREDITH SCHORR

This one is likened to a Hallmark-esque movie about a heroine who moves to a small town in the hopes of finding her own HEA. Goodreads

JUST BETWEEN US, MADISON WRIGHT

Don’t know anything about this novel, but it sounds charming and I love the cover art! Plus I read about it somewhere which is how it ended up in my Barnes and Noble cart. Goodreads

What books with flowers on the cover would (or did) make your list? Which of these have you read? Would you read any? Comment all of your thoughts below.

    1. As Seen on TV sounds fun, and though I enjoy a Hallmark flick here and there, it DOES recycle all the tropes. ;) Yay for sharing a book on our respective lists.

    1. I used to read Colleen’s books ALL THE TIME, and if I remember right I did quite enjoy them. I would give another of hers a chance at some point. It’s just a question of reading again… and squeezing them in with all the other books I have on my shelf. ;)

  1. April showers bring May flowers, and I love the flowers on the covers that you chose! Books with flowers on the cover are always so pretty and eye-catching. The only book from this list that I’ve read is As Seen on TV, and loved it, but the cover of Tokyo Ever After always makes me want to read it.
