TEN BOOKS WITH CELEBRATORY COVER ART

When it comes down to book cover art, we all know I’m something of a snob. I have looks or designs that I love and also will confess I have, in the past, bought a book just for its cover design. Since I am something of a cover snob, I’m following up one of our other lists from last year that is to feature ten books with celebration cover art. So think confetti, balloons or cake! You know the usual elements.

TEN BOOKS WITH CELEBRATORY COVER ART. #CoverDesigns take the cake in this week's list! What celebration #coverart do you like? #TopTen #TopTenList #BookList #TopTenTuesday Share on X

Most of these books won’t necessarily be celebratory on the inside, but the cover art still looks fun and seems to be a celebration, perhaps in some kind of odd juxtaposition of the story. Let’s get right to work and see what we find.

TEN BOOKS with CELEBRATION COVER ART

AMERICAN GIRL

All of the American Girl dolls used to have books that featured happy birthday in the title and the name of the doll. I own most of them, and to this day, still have the old style covers (from when they were Pleasant Company) on my shelf. I haven’t been able to part with any of those yet, and so my American Girl books from childhood sit on closet shelves that probably could be better utilized. Goodreads

TRAPEZE, LEIGH ANSELL

From what I understand, this one is a deeper emotional novel, but still, with that beautiful cover art, and the fact that it has balloons, well, we’re going to include it. Goodreads

WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE, TRISH DOLLER

This one feels like a party-ish novel cover art with the bokeh lights, and the party dress. I’ve always thought this one was dreamy. Goodreads

I’M SO SURE, JENNY B. JONES

This one has gone through two additional cover changes since this original 2009 Thomas Nelson release (the author owns the book and has re-published on her own). Still, I think in the Christian young adult fiction world, these covers were kind of iconic and it does feature balloons! Goodreads

THE PARTY CRASHER and SURPRISE ME, SOPHIE KINSELLA

Never read a book by Sophie, but I do think the Confessions of a Shopaholic adaptation is cute and it’s something I rewatch here and there as a comfort movie. These two seem to fit the party book cover theme nicely. Goodreads

THE DANCING MASTER, JULIE KLASSEN

Read this one years ago, and it looks like part of the novel takes place at a part, or ball as would likely be more appropriate to this time period. Goodreads

MY SO-CALLED LOVE LIFE, ALLIE PLEITER

I haven’t had this one for a LONG time, but back in the day, I used to read some of those Love Inspired novels that were short and often had the same format (the characters all meet on x-page, the story goes with y trope, etc.). This is one I’m 99% sure I owned, but finally donated with a bunch of other mass market editions. Still, it has cake, so it fits! Goodreads

HEARTS ARE LIKE BALLOONS, CANDACE ROBINSON

This one sounds quite sad, but also like perhaps it will have hope in the end. But with balloons in the title and part of the cover design, I did have to include this one. Plus it’s been on my shelf for eons. Goodreads

LUCKY IN LOVE, KASIE WEST

I mean, there is a balloon on the cover… so we’re going with it. Goodreads

HEIRESS TAKES ALL, EMILY WIBBERLEY

Something tells me this is anything by a celebration novel, but the cover art has cake on it and, well, since books that have party elements is the only requirement, well it fits. Goodreads

Which of these ten books with celebration cover art have you read? Have you read any? Which ones are worth the reading time? Comment all of your thoughts below… including sharing, what are some of your wishlist books?

    1. I do that all the time (misread a title/things), Cindy. ;) It’s something I also need to work on (good/fitting titles) in my own writing too. Thanks for visiting!

  1. Rissi, I love the twist you put on this week’s prompt! It’s so much fun to see books featuring covers that look celebratory. And I love how not all of them look similar, and have very different vibes but all on the same topic. I hope you really enjoy these when you read them!

    1. I’m sure some of these are celebration worthy stories, but the covers all have something we associate with celebrating, so I went for it. ;) Sometimes it’s fun to put together a list of varying genres. Thanks, as always, for visiting, Leah!
