Fans of CBS’ Fire Country are getting a look at CW’s Supernatural and Walker star Jared Padalecki in his guest arc. The actor, as was reported a while ago, will play Camden, a SoCal firefighter. According to the Paramount press release for the November 15th episode (Edgewater’s About to Get Real Cozy), the storyline will go something like this: “Station 42 and Three Rock jump into action when an airplane makes an emergency landing outside of Edgewater. Jared Padalecki guest stars as Camden, a SoCal firefighter who immediately recognizes Bode’s raw talent, on FIRE COUNTRY, Friday, Nov. 15 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+”
If you’re loving Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage, CBC handed its first season a full season order. The show features Montana Jordan and Emily Osment as the titular characters in a comedy that expands the Big Bang Theory world.
According to Apple TV, Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan are set to reprise their roles in the sequel to the 2023 action comedy The Family Plan. Wahlberg will not only lead the cast, he’ll also return to produce. The press release reads, in part, saying “The Morgan Family is back in action! Today, Apple Original Films announced a sequel is in the works for its global hit film “The Family Plan,” with Mark Wahlberg set to produce and reprise his role as Dan Morgan, and Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti and Van Crosby all returning to star. Simon Cellan Jones will also return as director of the action-comedy feature from Skydance Media. “The Family Plan” premiered as the most-watched film on Apple TV+ following its debut last year.”

If you adored Miss Scarlet and the Duke, you were probably quite sad to learn early this year that the Duke would be no more. Stuart Martin left the Masterpiece show after four seasons. Now, the show is Miss Scarlet and the official PBS series five synopsis reads “Eliza’s agency is thriving, and her professional life is on a successful path – on the personal side however, Duke has now been away in New York for several months and Eliza is forced to make a difficult decision. Meanwhile, a new Detective Inspector comes to Scotland Yard and Eliza must navigate building a relationship with him if she’s going to continue having access to police resources. All these changes and decisions beg the question – can Eliza Scarlet have it all?”
This new DI will be played by Tom Durant Pritchard with Kate Phillips returning as Miss Scarlet. Plus Masterpiece PBS dropped a new preview trailer today! On a side note, while I’m going to miss Martin’s Duke (he was my favorite), I love that the synopsis suggests Eliza is going to do some soul searching which I think, one way or another, will be really good for her character.
According to reporting, one of the most popular streaming shows Only Murders in the Building has booked a season five guest star in Téa Leoni. Who else do you want to appear in the eventual fifth season after season four’s star packed guest lineup?
TV SERIES REVIEW | ‘WHITSTABLE PEARL,’ SERIES THREE PROVES AGAIN TO BE ONE OF THE BEST
Amazon MGM Studios has an upcoming half-hour (which is unusual for the format) police drama titled On Call. The drama is from Wolf Entertainment and will feature a varied cast that will include Troian Bellisario, Brandon Larracuente, Lori Loughlin, Rich Ting, and Eriq La Salle. This debut, January 9 2025 on Prime Video, will mark the first streaming series for Wolf Entertainment. According to the Prime Video press release, “On Call is an adrenalized and visceral police drama that follows a rookie and veteran officer duo as they go on patrol in Long Beach, California. Incorporating a mixture of bodycam, dash-camera, and cellphone footage to create a cinema verité effect, the innovative series explores the morality of protecting and serving a community.”
In silly movie news, the third movie in the Paddington series now has a trailer. Paddington in Peru is all about the lovable bear returning to his roots with, I am sure, funny mishaps.
