VALENTINE’S DAY AESTHETIC: 16 BOOK COVERS THAT FIT THE DAY

As Valentine’s Day approaches, we share all of the romance-y things around here. No season or block of content would be complete without books also playing a role. This brings us to our list today that is to feature Valentine’s Day book cover aesthetic! This is actually a comical list to make because it’s about aesthetic rather than content. When you go shopping, the colors of the day are often shades of pink and red, so while these covers look appropriate and would fit anyone’s seasonal look, the stories inside aren’t all hearts and love!

Here we go! Let’s jump right in with all of the (hopefully) colorful red and pink heart vibes.

VALENTINE’S DAY BOOK COVER AESTHETIC

THE BETRAYED, KIERA CASS

All those florals and red means this one has a full on romantic look, and it’s quite lovely. Goodreads

RENT a BOYFRIEND, GLORIA CHAO

I think I unhauled this one for no other reason than I’ve had it on my shelf for a long time. It follows a girl who tries to rent a guy to bring home and introduce to her parents. Goodreads

IS SHE REALLY GOING OUT WITH HIM?, SOPHIE COUSENS

This one follows a columnist who decides to leave behind “love” after a painful breakup (plus she has two kids). When she needs to rescue her job, she tries to pitch an idea about going on seven dates with the twist of having her kids choose them! Goodreads

A FLIGHT of FANCY, LAURIE ALICE EAKES

I had this one years ago, but cannot remember all the details about the story. It sure has the pink and red-ish coloring down, though. Goodreads

WITTY in PINK, ERICA GEORGE

This one looks like fun and is about a girl who has spent five years avoiding someone who may look like a “white knight,” but is anything but in her viewpoint! Goodreads

THE GOODBYE BRIDE, DENISE HUNTER

Swoony and sweet and done in the kind of dreamy haze bokeh effect, this novel is lovely, too. It’s about a woman who suffers amnesia and assumes she’s still married to the man whose heart is just starting to heal from their breakup. Goodreads

GOOD GIRL, BAD BLOOD, HOLLY JACKSON

I’m not sure which edition of this I have (and am apparently too lazy to get up and check my bookshelf), but I own this second book which is great because now I need to read book two which has Pip and her friend Ravi as podcasters in the aftermath of them discovering the truth (which is that Ravi’s brother wasn’t a murderer!). Given that the BBC is producing a second season, I’d guess this will be the main story they follow so reading book two is high on my 2025 book priority list. Goodreads

LOVE and OTHER MISTAKES, JESSICA KATE

Read this one back when it was released so details are fuzzy, but I think it was cute. Plus, it has all the bright red on the cover (with hearts, too!) so we love this for a Valentine’s Day aesthetic. Goodreads

VALENTINE’S DAY AESTHETIC: 16 BOOK COVERS THAT FIT THE DAY. Valentine’s Day is the theme for this week’s aesthetic book cover list.

A QUEEN’S GAME, KATHARINE MCGEE

Not one that technically I own (yet), this one is all kinds of pretty in pink! I preordered the paperback version which comes out later this fall, so hopefully it’s a good book which takes place in the 19th century Europe in what’s described as “glamour and intrigue” during the era. Goodreads

PLAYING with MATCHES, HANNAH ORENSTEIN

This one follows a journalism graduate who is living her best life, until she isn’t. Goodreads

ANNA and the FRENCH KISS, STEPHANIE PERKINS

I feel like this once upon a time popular book is either loved or loathed. I loved the story about a girl who is trying to get through her senior year (as a transfer!), but I do sometimes wonder if I’d still love the books I once loved if I were to re-read them. Perhaps part of why I don’t reread. Goodreads

THE MEET-CUTE PROJECT, RHIANNON RICHARDSON

Can we talk about how cute this cover is? It really IS the Valentine aesthetic. Goodreads

KISS me in PARIS, CATHERINE RIDER

I read the Christmas-y novel by Catherine (set in New York, I think), but haven’t read this one yet. If it’s as fun as the other one, I have a feeling I’d love this one – and check out all that pink! Goodreads

THE SPY and I, TIANA SMITH

Technically this one isn’t on my shelf yet because I just ordered it, but it SEEMS like a good time in a kind of Knight-and-Day-meets-Chuck kind of premise. It follows a cyber security expert who is mistaken for a CIA agent, and the man she has to work with in order to stay alive. Goodreads

MY HERO NEXT DOOR, MELODY SWEET

I haven’t read this one but bought it years ago because it sounded sweet. It’s a republish for the author, and the cute pink hearts on the cover earn this one a place on the list. Goodreads

MY PHONY VALENTINE, COURTNEY WALSH

Courtney Walsh is an author I’ve read books from, but not this one. It’s a popular novel (about a hockey star!) though that many readers enjoy. I actually just purchased a copy so hopefully I’ll read it this coming year! Just not in time for Valentine’s Day. Goodreads

    1. I love them all together too! Definitely the goal was for everything to look valentine-y. Although I’m pretty sure not all have Valentine’s Day STORIES inside. ;)

    1. Great minds… and all that! ;) (We *have* to use a book heart image for a topic like the “Love freebie,” right?) I know how you feel about not loving a book because of a certain trope. Sometimes a book just doesn’t work because of something we don’t love.

      1. Haha! Yeah, I don’t have many book heart images because hearts aren’t a major thing for me, so I only have a couple that get re-used each year around this time! Yeah, I just have a hard time with that one because of the existing girlfriend being sort of a blank who didn’t seem to count somehow. It just made it hard for me to really buy into rooting for the relationship turning into something because I was uncomfortable with that element. Ah well, probably just me!

        1. Nothing wrong with reusing! I’ve done that too. Sometimes I feel like it “hurts” because then no one is curious to read or browse things I put together because its repetitive but I also have to think about practicality and the online “storage” space I have for images. :)

That makes sense re: Anna and the French Kiss. Sometimes I feel like characters or a trope is just “there” to create a conflict that a story doesn’t need or in this case, to use the love triangle trope. I find it interesting that I’ll sometimes “forgive” a trope in one story and detest it in another. ;) I guess it must be the way the story is told or that I like it better over another.

    1. I agree. ‘Paris’ is pretty; it has the swoony look. :) LOL, I know many of these aren’t romance-y, but the cover colors fit the Valentine’s day looks so I went for it. ;)

    1. I thought I’d find lots of options easily (because it was based on using colors) but it was as bit of a struggle! Still, I do love featuring fun covers so it was worth it. :D
