‘MYSTERY ISLAND: WINNER TAKES ALL’ IS ANOTHER GOOD HALLMARK
A sequel to a film from 2023, Mystery Island: Winner Takes All catches us up with old favorite characters and new ones, too. Back together on the island, this time as business partners, is Dr. Emilia Priestly (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Jason Trent (Charlie Weber). The pair team up game writers for a mystery island cases. After meeting during Emilia’s first trip to the island during an immersive murder mystery experience, the pair discover they work together well. Emelia is a therapist who often works with the London police, which is where she lives. Jason is a detective who makes the island his home.
When they host contest winners, the end game is for them to solve a murder in order to win a prize. Everything goes sideways when someone is murdered, which uncovers darker secrets.

When I saw Mystery Island, it was one of my favorite films to come from the Hallmark Mystery brand in recent years. It was very reminiscent of something like Agatha Christie, but still keeps in line with the cozy mystery feels that we recognize and know from the network. Additionally, Mystery Island: Winner Takes All has a wonderful cast in Elizabeth Henstridge from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and even Charlie Weber who I haven’t seen in other things but do enjoy in this. While the flirting and banter is cute in these mysteries, I do wish some of them would develop a relationship between some couples or don’t get flirty. (Oh, yeah, and you’ll also see Kristin Booth which avid fans know well.) mystery island winner takes all
Though unusual for some of the more recent mysteries, this one did earn a sequel which is wonderful considering this is one of the better mysteries. It has more intrigue because it steps away from the “small town” look most of these cozy mysteries boast. Something I really do like. If you enjoyed Mystery Island, you’ll enjoy this.
