One of the favorites among these is Kimberley Sustad, an actress who made her debut as the sister, earned a leading lady spot, reverted to the bestie and then is again the leading lady. KIMBERLEY SUSTAD HALLMARK ROLES
A BRIDE for CHRISTMAS, 2012
In this Hallmark movie featuring Kimberley Sustad, which is close to being her debut, she plays the lead’s sister and it’s this Hallmark role that would then lead to her first leading lady role with the network.
Synopsis: After Jessie calls off her third engagement, she swears off serious relationships until she finds “the one.” That is, until charming but chronically single Aiden comes along. – Hallmark Plus
THE NINE LIVES of CHRISTMAS, 2014
This film is quite cute and was, at the time, something different for Hallmark. It follows Brandon Routh’s fireman and Sustad plays a veterinary student who ends up being roommates with Routh’s character. It’s really quite cute and surprisingly I did see it more than once which isn’t something I do as a rule for Hallmark rules.
Though I never saw it (this film feels complete and good “as is”), this did also inspire a sequel in 2021, which was:
- THE NINE KITTENS of CHRISTMAS, 2021
Synopsis: Zachary Stone, a handsome bachelor with distaste for responsibility, sees his life change before his eyes when he decides to adopt a stray cat. – Hallmark+
GOURMET DETECTIVE, 2015
Kimberley plays a supporting role in this, the first film in the Gourmet Detective movie series. In this she plays a character named Sally.
Synopsis: A chef turned culinary sleuth is partnered with a beautiful detective to unravel the clues surrounding the unexpected death of a guest at a prestigious dinner party. Stars Dylan Neal, Brooke Burns and Matthew Kevin Anderson. – Hallmark+
A GODWINK CHRISTMAS, 2018
This is just one of the collaborations Sustad had with Paul Campbell. Not only on-screen but also as co-writers.
Synopsis: Through a series of coincidences, known as Godwinks, Paula and Gery find their paths keep crossing at Christmas on Martha’s Vineyard, as if they are destined for each other. Stars Kathy Lee Gifford, Kimberly Sustad, Paul Campbell. – Hallmark+
SENSE, SENSIBILITY and SNOWMEN, 2019
Synopsis: Christmas enthusiast party planners Ella and her sister Marianne clash with client Edward a not so jolly toy company CEO. Starring Erin Krakow and Luke Macfarlane. – Hallmark+
WEDDING EVERY WEEKEND, 2020
Synopsis: Nate and Brooke are going to the same four weddings, four weekends in a row. To avoid set-ups, they go together as “wedding buddies.” But what starts as a friendship soon becomes deeper. Stars Kimberley Sustad, Paul Campbell. – Hallmark+
CHRISTMAS by STARLIGHT, 2020

NORTH to HOME, 2022
Following a trio of sisters who return to Alaska where they reunite with each other and their mother. It’s been a long time, but I think I enjoyed this one and its deeper family bonds.

In 2022, Kimberley made a cameo in the Three Wise Men and a Baby which has her frequent on-screen partner, Paul Campbell, in a lead role. This film would inspire two additional sequels, which are:

TO ALL a GOOD NIGHT, 2023
This one got some good reviews and fan reaction back in 2013, but it wasn’t a favorite of mine. I remember watching part of the film, and didn’t love it, but then I watched the rest at a later time and did find the film entertaining. The cast is good and if you like Christmas movies with a bit more emotion, well this is one that falls into that.
Synopsis: A small-town photographer saves the life of a mysterious man, who may just be in town to buy her family’s parkland – which is also the location of the annual Christmas celebration. Stars Kimberley Sustad, Mark Ghanime. – Hallmark+
THE REAL WEST, 2024
This is a really cute romantic-comedy that gets a little risqué, strong emphasis on little, for the network. It’s about a woman who finds love with a cowboy working on the ranch where she and her family vacation.
Synopsis: A family vacation to a working Ranch introduces Professor Rebecca to Jake West. Rebecca is a widow chasing tenure and Jake is a handsome cowboy who never settled down. Stars Kimberley Sustad, Lucas Bryant and James Denton. – Hallmark+
THE SANTA CLASS, 2024
Synopsis: Kate North, the owner of a struggling Santa School, and her instructor, Dan, must help an amnesia-stricken Santa Claus regain his memories to save Christmas and hopefully her school as well. Stars Kimberley Sustad, Benjamin Ayres. – Hallmark+
MERRY CHRISTMAS, TED COOPER!, 2025
In her 2025 headline Christmas role, Sustad reunites with a former high school classmate whose Christmas has been anything but the season he loves so well. The story looks like it would be cute, and is one I’m eager to see.
Synopsis: Weatherman Ted Cooper (Buckley) loves Christmas, but the past three have been terrible. This year, Ted has made up his mind that things will be different – this will be the Christmas things turn around for him. But Ted’s relentless optimism is about to be put to the test as he is faced with a litany of injuries and obstacles when he travels back to his hometown of Lackawanna, NY for the holidays. […] He also reconnects with the charming Hope Miller (Sustad), except now she’s Dr. Hope Miller, with whom he went to high school and quietly crushed on from afar. – Hallmark Media
