April 25th may be the date we remember from the delightful charms that is Miss Congeniality, but the film opened in December 25 years ago. As a result, we simply had to celebrate this film that I am sure almost any self-respecting millennial movie addict has seen (probably more than once!). So, let’s throw a bit of confetti in the air and remember Miss Congeniality these 25 years later.

In this film, Gracie must go undercover (after a blunder too many) as a beauty pageant contestant and given the tomboy normalcy she lives in (really the only way she knows how to live), this proves very difficult for her. From here, the film is a kind of redemption story in a very fun and cute and heartwarming manner.

I have seen this movie many times. I’ve also seen Miss Congeniality 2. It was good, but not as good as the first movie. Sandra Bullock as Gracie Hart is a stitch. I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since it came out!
Right? How are so many of these movies we’ve loved having these big milestones? Nothing like an iconic anniversary to make me feel old. ;)
