‘ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE & MAHJONG’ IS SWEET MOVIE ABOUT BEST FRIENDS
A title that Hallmark is airing as their Mother’s Day tribute of 2026, All’s Fair in Love and Mahjong is, as usual, simply put, cute.

Busy but happy has been normal for Ronni (Fiona Gubelmann). She works as a school nurse, has the best friends, and has her greatest joy which is raising her smart daughter. But now she is heading off to college leaving Ronni as an empty nester with extra time on her hands.
Pouring more of that time into her friendships, she also hosts a regular Mahjong game where her best friends join, and they all enjoy the best time playing a time-honored game. Then her hours are cut, and her ex makes calls in a long-ago deal. Then, while teaching Mahjong, she meets Ben (Paul Campbell).

Share on XA title strategically airing this weekend as a kind of ode to motherhood and all that mom’s mean, All’s Fair in Love and Mahjong is really sweet. It also nods to the game (obviously) in its title, too, and has an inspired by a true story text in the opening. Sweet is a conclusion I have with 99.9% of the titles that debut on this network, but it remains true. There are some titles that are new favorites and some that aren’t, but this doesn’t lessen the fact that they are still entertaining. This film falls into the latter category.
Promoted as having a star-studded cast, this film does indeed boast a host of familiar Hallmark faces that include (plus Campbell and Gubelmann) Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, Melissa Peterman and Tamera Mowry-Housley. So yes, that is quite accurate because the recognizable names do stack up. The warmth and connections of friendship are also many and that means this film will touch many in its primary audience.
If you like the cast or have enjoyed other of their scripts that center on mothers, I think you’ll enjoy All’s Fair in Love and Mahjong. Lots of laughter and sweetness is the driving force, which means this one is another great Saturday night watch.
