‘MAY FOR MOMS’ MOVIES – SEE RANKING OF THE HALLMARK TITLES!
For the last two years, Hallmark has run a May for Moms campaign (I admit, I thought it was three or more years!) which usually only has two titles under the banner because they air across the first two Saturdays of May. As a result, there are very few titles officially in this May and moms banner, however we are going to rank said titles anyway!

So, as mom’s day is hours away now, let’s see what Hallmark movies you can enjoy with your kids!
NOTE: I’m adding my typical disclaimer (because the Internet has opinions and isn’t always kind), which is to say this is all in fun. Just because a title ranks “last” on my list doesn’t mean I didn’t think it was cute or that there won’t be hundreds of viewers who loved the film. This is great! All this means is, the film didn’t stand out as a new favorite, which is also, totally fine. There are so many movies in the world for many reasons, and one of them is that there is something for everyone.
THE MAY for MOMS MOVIES – RANKED!
Ranking these titles from least to most favorite
LOVE in the CLOUDS
This one was, if I remember right, an acquired title for Hallmark. It had favorite Paul Greene in the leading man role, with colorful look. In the film, he plays a hot air balloonist who clashes (before love sparks, of course!) with a reporter covering the Balloon fiesta. I don’t remember much about this one, which is why I’m putting it last. However, like anything you will see (at least in this decade) from Hallmark, this one is still delightfully cute.
I cannot remember what, or if any, mom angle is part of the plot, but still, this one is credited as part of 2025’s May for Moms.
Synopsis: Reporter Brooklyn travels to the Balloon Fiesta to meet hot air balloon pilot Jared, who offers romantic balloon rides but is closed off to love himself. – via Hallmark+
HATS OFF to LOVE
I don’t remember all of the details of this one but do remember I enjoyed it far more than anticipated! It has Hallmark’s newest star which is Ginna Claire Mason as a woman who hopes to design the derby hat for one of its most prestigious guests. Of course, she ends up finding a spark of romance with the woman’s son, and all around, the movie is just sweet and cute.
Synopsis: Stella designs hats and fascinators for socialite Rosalind and meets her son Christian who’s training a horse to compete in the Louisville Derby. – via Hallmark+
ALL’S FAIR IN LOVE and MAHJONG
Adding this one in the middle of the pack is perhaps unfair because, well, All’s Fair in Love and Mahjong won’t debut until tonight May 9! However, based on prior experience with these kind of Hallmark ensemble cast films, and other factors, I feel relatively confident in this placement. I’m sure it will be cute, but I added it below the ‘Danube’ movies because those did surprise me (happily). However, the wild card for this one is having Tamera Mowry-Housley since I’ve enjoyed most of the movies she has been in, so time will tell.
The plot of this one is about a mother who’s daughter leaves for college and her own life changes both at work and new demands from an ex. This inspires her to throw her time into the Mahjong game she hosts with some of her best friends.

LOVE on the DANUBE three movie series
Originally, this was a Hallmark+ exclusive before they got a linear debut on Hallmark Channel, and I forgot they were part of the May for Moms debuts which aired the final three weeks of May.
About all I remember is they did surprise me and were very entertaining. Among the stars across the three films are Jessica Sipos, Brendan Penny, Wes Brown, and Nazneen Contractor. There is lots of charm and sweetness in these plots and they are, as one would expect, easy watching following fellow cruise passengers who find love during this experience!
Synopsis: Fellow cruise passengers, Sarah and Jack, play matchmaker with their music loving widowed parents, as they cruise down the Danube visiting European cities. – Love on the Danube: Love Song story via Hallmark+
KENTUCKY ROSES
This one just debuted last week, and I thought it was really charming. I liked the cast (pairing a familiar face with the new-to-Hallmark Odette Annable) and the on location shooting at Churchill Downs makes this one of their better and more impressive titles, irrespective of the campaign. The film has Andrew Walker playing the co-lead and it is a nice story about family, but also (of course) a nice love story, too.
Synopsis: A greenhouse worker and the son of Churchill Downs’ CEO form an unlikely pair, coming together to save the Kentucky Derby rose blanket and uncovering a generational love story along the way. – via Hallmark+
Stream, at publication, all of these titles with Hallmark+; the expectation being All’s Fair in Love and Mahjong, which will stream next-day (May 10) only on Hallmark+!
