‘A Moving Romance’: A Charming UPtv Original
Some of the UPtv romantic comedies aren’t always a “win” for me. On a whim, I “saved” A Moving Romance, and on a late Friday night in, I decided to give it a watch. Turns out, it was a sweet experience.
A Moving Romance (2019) UPtv Review
When her big-city dream job doesn’t pan out as she plans (as in, she’s fired!), Olivia (Ambyr Childers) returns home, and lets her supportive father assume it’s just for a visit. Owner of a moving company, the Wilson Family Movers, it would happen her dad’s work is in need of some TLC. A big chain company is moving in and looking to put their small business in the past.
This inspires Olivia, along with her father’s trusted foreman, Scott (Keegan Allen), to revamp the business models and adopt some changes. But the more she puts them into practice, the more she realizes there may be more than one dream in need of realizing.

Not to mention, something that surprises me (in good ways). There’s a solid group of supporting characters which makes the plot fun, but also a bit too deliberate in the back and forth story switch off. That said, this makes for a fun “group” dynamic and while it’s a bit unusual, the way this one ends is really very refreshing. I applaud the writer’s for shaking things up a bit and making some progress in changing the rom-com status quo.
If you’ve enjoyed prior titles under the UPtv banner, A Moving Romance is another cute one. There likely should be more moments we can believe in to help make the grand gesture ending seem legit, but despite this, there’s still plenty of cuteness (including with a side plot romance) to go around. In summary, I enjoyed this more than I went in expecting to, and that made this 90 minutes of a good time.
