A Surprising and Cute Romance: ‘Like Cats and Dogs’
Though this Hallmark original is, at this point, several years old, I finally watched it. Surprisingly (no thanks to its title), it’s actually quite good. like cats and dogs
Like Cats and Dogs (2017) Hallmark Review
Relaxation is all Laura Haley (Cassidy Griffin) wants from her 2 week vacation at a serene waterside rental home. She needs the time away from her by the book job as an accountant and her parents, who she loves, but also needs a break from considering they’re also co-workers. Wanting to unplug and rediscover her creative side, all Laura needs is her camera and her dog, Frank.
Working on his thesis is meant to be the most important goal of his life so far. Or so Spencer (Wyatt Nash). But knowing he needs quiet to do so, he rents a space where he can find this. Much to his – and Laura’s! – surprise, the home is double-booked and instead of the quiet retreat he anticipates, there’s chaos!
FILM REVIEW | Go on a Journey in ‘Rip Tide,’ a Good Movie
A Surprising and Cute Romance: ‘Like Cats and Dogs.’ A review of the 2017 Hallmark film with Wyatt Nash. #Hallmarkies #ChickFlick #CleanRomance Share on XQuite some time ago, I had started to watch this, but something about my Internet streaming speed or app capability that night was sketchy, and since then, I’d forgotten. But then when you see it’s on demand, you make the time to finally watch another of Hallmark’s cute little romances. Plus, there’s a cute dog, so… like cats and dogs
This one isn’t one that I assumed, in my mind, to be good enough to consider a favorite. Of course, the title did nothing to endear it, but what I do find surprising is how good this title is. There’s some great writing and good moments in the story that relate to the more scenes that should have more weight, emotionally, to them.
In the end, as always, this is a sweet “clean romance” film that is sure to spark a laugh and a smile.

This is one of my favorite Hallmark movies! Cassidy Gifford is a good actor. Did you see her in Caged No More (2016)? Excellent film!
I did not see Cassidy in the 2016 film you mention, but like you, I quite like her in this one! It’d be fun to see her in more films like this for sure. :) Thanks for the visit, Anne. Appreciate this.
