JUST A FEW OF THE ARC BOOK TITLES I DID REALLY ENJOY

Here we go, another book list. Because we’re on Tuesday again and of course, that’s the day of the week we look at curating book lists on various topics. Today I’m revisiting the ARC books I read and did enjoy. Some of them I did buy finished copies of, and some I didn’t. Some I put into a box to (hopefully) find somewhere to donate, and some I sadly never made time to read. Regardless, they deserve a look see.

📚📚 JUST A FEW OF THE ARC BOOK TITLES I DID REALLY ENJOY 📚 A #TOPTENTUESDAY LIST TALKING ABOUT THE #ARCS I ONCE RECEIVED. MANY THANKS TO PUBLISHERS LIKE @BLINKYABOOKS, @FIERCREADS, @BLOOMSBURYKIDS, @SIMONSCHUSTER. #BOOKLIST #READING… Share on X

Over the past 11+ years I’ve been doing this, publishers have been super kind to send me copies of books prepublication, aka an ARC, which they do so for the consideration of a review. Some have been because I specifically requested the novel. Others just because some publishers are generous, kind and awesome. When it’s the latter while I appreciated it more than I can say, I didn’t usually pressure myself to for sure read the book. Just because it wasn’t something I specifically asked for. When I did, I always did try to ensure I made time for the book and read it.

Today we’re going to look at a few of the ARCs I did receive and loved, and a couple I INTEND to read because they sound dang good.

Let’s get started.

ARC BOOKS I READ AND LOVED

PRETTY IN PUNXSUTAWNEY, LAURIE BOYLE CROMPTON

A kind of modern take on a Groundhog Day scenario, this is a novel about a girl who keeps re-living the same day over and over, and the struggle she has in learning the “why” of this. Goodreads

A CASTLE IN THE CLOUDS, KERSTIN GIER

This one is just an easy and entertaining read. I liked the mystery, heroine and the setting which almost feels old-fashioned. Just fun and charming. Goodreads

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU, MARISA KANTER

Follows a book blogger who uses food to review her novels and the case of mistaken identity that could complicate the crush she has on a boy. Goodreads

THE MAP FROM HERE TO THERE, EMERY LORD

In all honestly, I’m not sure I loved this novel as much as Emery’s The Start of Me and You. However, this follow-up was just SUCH a surprise to even receive that I was thrilled. Plus I didn’t not like the book. Goodreads

ARCS I HOPE TO STILL READ

FREAKY IN FRESNO, LAURIE BOYLE CROMPTON

Inspired by Freaky Friday, this book puts a pair of cousins in each other’s shoes. But will they be able to undo this unexpected perspective? From Blink Books, as all of these (below) are, this is one publisher who was always SO generous and I appreciate that. Goodreads

SALTY, BITTER, SWEET, MAYRA CUEVAS

This one always sounded good, and I didn’t make time for it. It was one of those I received from a publisher at the height of my reviewing days and so I had books that I did request at the time or books with deadlines. After that, books would get shuffled or put on the back burner. This one follows a girl who must deal with her dreams of being a chef, while her family also suffers more than one trial and loss. Goodreads

WE WERE BEAUTIFUL, HEATHER HEPLER

A year after the fatal crash that leaves her scared, a teenage girl still struggles to reconstruct her memories of that night. Sounds like an emotional, but ultimately hopeful novel. Goodreads

IT STARTED WITH GOODBYE & NO PLACE LIKE HERE, CHRISTINA JUNE

Christina’s books are kind of modern fairy tales, and they just seem like they’d be entertaining novels. ‘Goodbye’ is a variation of Cinderella while ‘Place’ looks at Hansel and Gretel. Which would you be more likely to read? ‘Goodbye’: Goodreads • ‘Place’: Goodreads

THE MEMORY THIEF, LAUREN MANSY

Reminding me of the film In Time, this concept is a society where memories are currency. The protagonist is a girl looking to save her mother, and finding she’ll have to do whatever it takes to do so. Goodreads

Your turn! Have you read any of these titles; either as ARCs or when they released? Would you? Do any catch your eye? If so, which ones? Comment all those comments below! Let’s converse in the comments.

Thank you, as always, for being here. I’m super grateful and appreciate you taking the time. I apologize for not visiting your spaces sooner. Always a goal to improve that. But in the meantime, thanks!

Thank you for visiting; please come back soon

    1. That is a great way to look at not having the physical copy (shelf saver). I have never been able to get into e-reading so that’s probably why I’m all about the physical copies. :)
