‘AUTUMN IN THE CITY’ WALKS US THROUGH NEW YORK
Though not a new title, seeing this is the perfect time of year and it’s a fun movie, too.
Autumn in the City (2022) Hallmark TV Film Review
Finding out what her passion is and what she wants to do in life has been a journey for Piper (Aimee Teegarden). She’s lived in her home state close to her parents for twenty-nine years now. Plus she works for her dad in his small hometown business. While there’s nothing wrong with this life, Piper wants to discover if she is looking for something new and different.
This brings her to New York where she sublets an apartment, signs on with a temp agency (all hoping to find her best job!), and somehow befriends her annoying neighbor Austin (Evan Roderick).

🍂🍁‘AUTUMN IN THE CITY’ WALKS US THROUGH NEW YORK🍁🍂 Review of the 2022 #AutumnMovie with Aimee Teegarden. #FallMovies #Fall #Autumn #Hallmark #HallmarkMovie #HallmarkMovies #Romance Share on XThis is one I fully did intend to watch last year during its seasonal block, but missed out before my DVR took away any option except for Christmas movies. Now, the film recently popped up again thanks to my saving it all those months ago. It was worth the wait. While some don’t care for this type of relationship, I think how the romance plays out is cute and fun. It’s one of those hate-to-friends kind of stories and I think this one does it mostly well. It has just enough of a curmudgeonly “edge” while also being endearing.
The cast is good too. I always enjoy seeing Aimee in these, and in fact, she stars in one of my (still) favorite Christmas movies from Hallmark. Evan has also appeared on this network in titles such as the new Aurora Teagarden film and a Garage Sale Mystery title. Plus, you’ll see a familiar face or two rounding out the cast of characters in the lives of these two.
What I like about the film is it leans into the city setting in that it successfully transport us. They use Piper as a means to do this since we get to watch with, and experience through her the city and in this case, it happens to be the autumn backdrop. Cute and entertaining, Autumn in the City is a great watch if you haven’t seen it, and a fun re-watch if you have.

Content: there’s a kiss or two but nothing much beyond the usual TV-G rating. There is a same sex couple who play a role if that bothers you.
