‘MARRY ME IN YOSEMITE’: A ROMANCE THAT’S ALL ABOUT  NATURE

by

The start of their outdoor national park romances (though not titled in the same way), Marry Me in Yosemite is a romance that is all about nature.

Marry Me in Yosemite (2022) Hallmark TV Film Review

A popular nature photographer who loves art and showcasing beautiful things, Zoe Best (Cindy Busby) has a new assignment. This time the coffee table art books she publishes will take her to Yosemite where she is tasked with collecting photos. Her goal is to not outshine the popular artists before her, but to find that unique shot other collections miss.

With help from a park ranger, a local who is also a guide, named Jack (Tyler Harlow), Zoe just may find that creative boast she’s seeking.

Not officially titled as a “national park” movie in the way others on Hallmark are, this one still feels like it fits. In fact, Love in Zion is also a kind of carbon copy of this, which also features Cindy Busby. While cute and entertaining, neither one is particularly special. This one stands out more in one way, but the how it leans into history feels a little pointed and unnecessary in that it could have leaned into this in a better way. The film puts an emphasis on nature not just through the dialogue but also the scenes, most of which take place outdoors. marry me in yosemite

What I do like more about this film is the connections. There is more interest which is to the advantage of a would-be story between Zoe and Jack, which makes it easier to accept the conflicts and drama. The film has that perfect happy ending which seems unnecessary (because it feel like a last minute add on) but is accurate to the title, and will likely charm most of its viewers. Plus, you’ll see a new leading man in Tyler Harlow which I always find adds more interest.

Content: nothing to note. Marry Me in Yosemite is the standard TV-G Hallmark film though there are a few more kisses than some of its peers.
