The concept of this film is adorable, and the setting lends to a kind of airy romanticism (because of the open space of the outdoors). The film is a little clunky here and there but getting to see a cast that isn’t all about the normal talent is always fun. Beyond this, the film definitely leans into its old fashion type ideas beyond just writing a letter. It also has some of the adversarial (though not annoyingly so) banter back-and-forth.
Unlike some of their more recent dramedies, 14 Love Letters is also slower moving and has a kind of reflective pause or collection of moments for its heroine. It’s more about showing slowness or stillness than packing the script full of things. For this film, it works nicely and anyone who enjoys country life or has dreams like Kallie’s will be able to relate and thoroughly enjoy.
There is a dramatic conclusion which I think, in this film is totally unfair, but we forgive this, because as usual, the final moments are charming.

Content: There is nothing to note in this one. If it bothers you, a woman goes on dates with some different guys. But again, the TVG rating is all that is needed, and aside from kissing, the film is very wholesome.
