FALL 2025 TBR LIST: THE BOOKS I’D LIKE TO READ THIS AUTUMN
The return of a new season calls for a Fall 2025 TBR list. The usual rambles applies to this list which means that I probably won’t read them, but still I like creating these.

FALL 2025 TBR LIST: THE BOOKS I’D LIKE TO READ THIS AUTUMN. Looking at the books I *should* read this fall! #Reader #Reading #TTT #TopTenTuesday #TopTenList #BookList Share on XFrom fantasy fiction titles (aka an out-of-my-usual reading) to contemporary (always a favorite), there’s a variety of titles and genres below.
FALL 2025 TBR LIST
THORNEWICKE, CHARITY BISHOP
I’ve owned books by Bishop for a long time now and what I do know is, she researches her books. This is a kind of fantasy novel which is outside my reader comfort zone but it feels like a very fall-coded read. Goodreads
BLONDE IDENTITY and THE MOST WONDERFUL CRIME of the YEAR, ALLY CARTER
Blonde Identity just seems fun so why not read it (plus it’s about spies, too!) and at the latter end of a Fall TBR, I should read some Christmas reads, so reading this one by Carter was something I wanted to do last year and well, I didn’t. ‘Identity’ on Goodreads | ‘Crime’ on Goodreads
DRINKER of INK, SHANNON CASTLETON
I was told this book was quite good and I’m 99.9% sure I also added it to another of my TBR lists. Have I read it? Nope. Should I? Of course! Not sure why I put it on this TBR other than it seems like a fall-esque read. Goodreads
THE GOOD PART, SOPHIE COUSENS
I really liked the first book I read by Cousens (This Time Next Year) so reading something else from her is a must. The Good Part is one I own by her. Goodreads
MISS CAROLINE BINGLEY PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR, KELLY GARDINER and SHARMINI KUMAR
Based on the title alone, how fun does this sound? This may even make Caroline quite likable too – who knows! Either way, I love the idea of Caroline being a PI. Goodreads

NOT QUITE DEAD YET, HOLLY JACKSON
The premise of this (about a woman trying to solve her own murder before she dies from the brutal injuries she sustained) tells me this book is likely depressing (I admire that we know this up front though!), but since I liked The Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Jackson’s new book did pique my interest. Goodreads
MEET ME at the CHRISTMAS COTTAGE, CHRISTEN KRUMM
I loved Christen’s first novel which was a loose young adult retelling of While You Were Sleeping, so read this is high on my must list. Since it’s a Christmas novel (and this is only fall!) will I read it? Probably not, but adding it because I have every good intention of reading it. Goodreads
FOR the RECORD, EMMA LORD
I think this is supposed to be kind of inspired by the Taylor Swift life, so naturally it’s one I have to read. I mean, it’ll either be really entertaining or a little too on point. Goodreads

THE MISTLETOE BLUFF, EMILY SCHNEIDER
Like I said, at the tail end of this TBR, I would (or should?) read some Christmas reads. Let’s see if I do, but adding them may help inspire. Goodreads
WE MET LIKE THIS, KASIE WEST
Not sure how I’m going to feel about reading a very adult novel from a normally “sweet” young adult writer, but I did (or I thought I did; I cannot see anywhere that I actually did) order Kasie’s first foray into the adult genre. I also respect people who want to stretch themselves creatively. Goodreads

Linking up with That Artsy Reader Girl September 23: Books on My Fall 2025 to-Read List

Reading through your list made me realize I didn’t add any Christmas books on my Autumn list. I hope you enjoy yours.
I hope so too, Anne – and thanks! :)
Ooh, I like the sound of so many of the books on your list, thanks for including them.

Thanks. I hope they’re good ones! :)
The Good Part is the only Sophie Cousens book I’ve had to DNF. But that doesn’t mean you won’t like it. I hope you enjoy reading all of these when the mood strikes.

It’s always a bummer when we have to DNF an author or book we hope to like! I hope I do too… but we’ll see! :)
Thornewicke sounds and looks amazing! I hope you’ll love all these books :)
If you’d like to visit, here’s my TTT: https://thebooklorefairyreads.wordpress.com/2025/09/22/top-ten-tuesday-books-on-my-fall-2025-to-read-list/
Doesn’t it!? I’ve had that one (though it’s a different cover) for too long so hoping I read it at some point; sounds like a fun adventure. :)
Happy Reading! I added MEET ME at the CHRISTMAS COTTAGE by CHRISTEN KRUMM on the TBR on goodreads. Here is my TTThttps://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2025/09/23/top-ten-tuesday-2/
How fun! Hope you enjoy Christen’s if you read it! I think her first book (which was a Christmas-y story too) was so cute and fun. :)
I read the first and second book of Blonde Identity, and it was so much fun! I hope you enjoy all of these. :)
So good to know Leslie! They do sound fun. :)
You have some fun reads on your list! Enjoy!!
Thanks! I hope I do. :)
Thanks for stopping by earlier. I hope you like all of these books.
Thank you for stopping by here – and I hope so too! :)
The Good Part sounds good.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I think so too! Hoping it is. :)
Not Quite Dead Yet was amazing! I hope you will love it!
I’m SO glad to know this, Sophie. It does sound good. :)
I have heard great things about Drinker of Ink! You have been talking about We Met Like This for a while, you just need to try it and get it over with, LOL!
Glad you’ve heard good (someone rec’d it to me a while back) about Drinker of Ink! And in fairness to me (and it’s also totally fair I do repeat titles – a lot :D) “We Met Like This” only just released a week or so ago so technically I couldn’t read it until now. ;)
Ah, gotcha, LOL! And, I was totally teasing. As mood readers, I totally understand it could be a while before you actually want/feel like reading it!
Funny story – while I was putting this together, I was SO sure I had preordered this book (because I wanted to start it)… but I cannot find it or see an email receipt. So I guess I didn’t. Hopefully after all this, I’ll enjoy something about it! ;)
(And I knew you were. :D)
Oh, that is funny!
☺️
THE MOST WONDERFUL CRIME OF THE YEAR is a fun read. Carter’s books always make me laugh. I hope you enjoy all these.
Happy TTT!

Thanks! I hope I do too, Susan – and I’m glad to know ‘Crime’ is a great read. :)
Didn’t know Kasie West was writing adult novels. May have to have a look. Happy reading!
Right? I’m SO curious about that! :)
I have the Kasie West book on my TBR too, and For the Record is inspired by Taylor Swift’s life?? I must read it!
From what I read (in reviews), this definitely reminds readers of Swift and I feel like any book about a pop musician has to have a little bit of Taylor Swift inspiration. It sounds like its own story though too so that’s a good thing. :)
