THE POP CULTURE NEWS BULLETIN 213
The Pop Culture News Bulletin is a weekly roundup of the recent and trending news stories in the entertainment industry or stories that fall into the pop culture subcategory. Every Friday we feature stories that fit the content we frequently cover
USA Network will bring back The Rainmaker for a second season. The drama isn’t one I’ve seen (is it good?) but features Once Upon a Time’s Lana Parrilla and in lead roles it has Milo Callaghan, John Slattery, and Madison Iseman. The show will return next year for its second season (its first debuted in August) and is based on the John Grisham novel.
Following up this week’s release of Regretting You and 2024’s It Ends with Us, the next Colleen Hoover story that will earn an adaptation is Reminders of Him. According to its Goodreads page, this is about a mother who “yearns for a shot at redemption” after she spends a stint in prison. Wanting to reunite with her young daughter, Kenna (our heroine) finds this tough when everyone seems intent on keeping mother and daughter separated. Then there is Ledger, the bar owner who seems the only person willing to extend Kenna a second chance.
The film will be in theaters this March and you can find the first trailer below.

This past week/end, Hallmark held big events to celebrate the launch of its 2025 Countdown to Christmas season. The presser headline celebrates the events saying “Chart-Topping Talent Across Genres and Eras Join Voices to Make Hallmark Channel’s 16th Annual Countdown to Christmas Sing.” The release further celebrated this with the upcoming release of the Brad Paisley song “Counting Down the Days,” which he wrote and recorded. Other artists like Alex Vickery; Little Big Town; Megan Moroney; and Tigirlily Gold will be some of the musicians providing a soundtrack for these films. Additionally, you’ll hear classics from artists of yesteryear like Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra.
On Hallmark this weekend (25 – 26), the network will debut Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper! on the 25th; and then on the 26th, it will concurrently drop its Cherry Lane trio of films which were exclusive to Hallmark+. Check local listings for specific times.
Speaking of Christmas things, Great American Media is releasing, for a limited run, their Christmas sequel Another Sweet Christmas. This will be a Fathom event. The release reads, in part, that this is a “Great American Christmas Original movie, in theaters nationwide, November 30-December 2.” Meanwhile, this weekend, the Great American network will air A Royal Icing Christmas on the 25th.

In regards to the Pop Culture News Bulletin info, I saw the intense This is Us. Regretting You looks like it’s going to be good, for sure. The preview trailer of Reminders of Him looks like it will be awesome. I liked seeing familiar faces like
Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) & Rudy Pankow (Outerbanks). I’m definitely looking forward to seeing it!
