CBS made some renewal notices this week. Shows like NCIS and Matlock plus more (including Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage and Tracker) which joins the already renewed new shows Boston Blue and Sheriff Country.
It’s time for more award season news, and this week the Oscars finally dropped their list of their nominations. It’s made up of the usual suspects and talent. Based off prior awards of 2026, there is no great surprise about many nominations including best picture nominees F1; Marty Supreme; Sinners (plus earning what editorials report as a record 16 nominations); Train Dreams; and more. On the actor’s front, Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme); Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another); Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon); Michael B. Jordan, (Sinners); Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent) earn the nominations for the men while the best actress category is made up of the following. Jessie Buckley (Hamnet); Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You); Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue); Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value); and Emma Stone (Bugonia) are the five names on this list.

According to their social media promotion and official press announcement, Prime Video is launching their prequel Legally Blonde show on July 1, and ahead of that drop, the show also has earned a season two renewal. According to the “about” from Amazon MGM Studios, this will follow Elle Woods in her high school years, so the time period just prior to when we meet her and her determination to get into Harvard. The story reads as following Elle in “high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.” The show is produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios.
The Gillian Anderson led Netflix drama The Abandons won’t be back. Netflix is not renewing the western drama about two very different families according to reports.
