POP CULTURE NEWS NINETY-FOUR: THE CHRISTMAS AND NEW VICAR EDITION
Friday is here and we’re back scanning the Internet for pop culture type news-y things. The one big story that will actually affect our TV shows and films, isn’t really something I care about, but it’s a big deal from what I see so we give it a mention. There’s also casting changes and GAF news if that’s your thing. pop culture news ninety-four

POP CULTURE NEWS NINETY-FOUR
If you follow such things (and I largely don’t), SAG-AFTRA is officially going on strike. This, according to articles, marks the first time since 1960 that performers and writers has simultaneously been on strike and is set to wreak havoc on not just events about film and TV, but also the upcoming fall TV season.
Much like his predecessor did, Tom Brittney will leave Grantchester following completion of season eight, which is currently airing. He will be around for an episode or two of the upcoming ninth season where newcomer Rishi Nair will now join our favorite detective Robson Green. What do you think? Are you curious about this change? I just hope, given that writers have time with this and know Brittney is leaving they write him a good ending. That’s what the fans really want.
If you’re into it or memoirs, Britney Spears announced her much discussed memoir The Woman in Me which will release this fall.
NBC wrapped its years long TV show The Blacklist. I used to watch this one but haven’t in years. Do you watch this one?
Several TV Christmas movie news stories made the rounds this week. Chad Michael Murray is set to return to Great American Family for a new movie. Lori Loughlin will also star in Blessings of Christmas with James Tupper and Jesse Hutch. Plus, Danica McKeller will return to play in a royal romance that will be themed for Christmas. Speaking of McKeller, on the same network she’ll also debut an autumn romance co-starring David Haydn-Jones. The film will be called Swing into Romance and is heavily influenced by the world of dance. Needless to say, there’s lots of familiar faces coming to your favorite TV romance genre!
I missed celebrating on its actually anniversary, but this past week, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, the OG Disney pirates flick, celebrated 20 years (!!). We did celebrate mid-week with a (silly) trivia post. Make sure to come by and tell us, what you loved best about the flick!
