As the summer Olympic is about to begin, the goal today is to look at ten athlete characters we love. Since it is the summer and there are characters, we love who have those big, athletic goals and dreams. Some of which may make us want to curl into a ball in embarrassment as we remember we barely survive our low impact workout or daily walk.

This one is all about a women’s baseball team set in the 40s, and from all I’ve read and seen, this film is quite entertaining. Stream, at publication, on Roku
ERIC LIDDELL from CHARIOTS OF FIRE
This 80s drama is a very famous film that almost everyone heard of. I haven’t ever seen it, but it follows Eric Liddell a Christian who won’t train on Sunday but competes, even with trials, in the 40s Olympics. Purchase on places like Apple
THE GUYS from THE BOYS IN THE BOAT
This George Clooney led drama is also, like many of these movies, inspired by a true story of a men’s Olympic rowing team who competed in the Olympics in the 50s. Stream, at publication, on Amazon Prime ten athletic characters

This one is cute as I remember though it’s been years since I watched it. It follows a troubled teen with a natural athletic gift. Purchase on places like Apple
JESS and JULES from BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM
This one features two girls, passionate about soccer, who both must overcome some challenges to keep their dreams alive. Stream, at publication, on Disney+
MICHELLE from RIDE LIKE A GIRL
This one is really quite good and features Theresa Palmer in an inspired by a true story tale about a jockey who surpasses expectations. Purchase on places like Apple

This one is far sillier than some on this list, but it does feature a heroine with big dreams and goals regarding her love of soccer. Stream, at publication, on Paramount+
LOUIS ZAMPERINI from UNBROKEN
This is another one that’s famous and follows a runner who is taken prisoner during WWII. Stream, at publication, on Netflix
