9 THINGS TO WATCH IF YOU LIKE ‘NOBODY WANTS THIS’
One of THE most popular Netflix hits with fans and ratings was Nobody Wants This. As the streamer dropped its second season recently, putting together yet another “watchalike” list seemed necessary. This inspires us to take a look at things to watch if you like Nobody Wants This. The dramedy is all kinds of charming and definitely an easy binge-watch.

9 THINGS TO WATCH IF YOU LIKE ‘NOBODY WANTS THIS.’ Looking at some (possible) watchalike titles if you love #NobodyWantsThis! #KristenBell #AdamBrody #TVShows Share on X
The first season introduces us to Kristen Bell’s Joanne and Adam Brody’s Noah, two people who haven’t found love. The pair are very different, from their religion to their family culture, and yet, somehow, despite the odds, they just fit. Still ups and downs, good and bad, these two prevail. In honor of its second season drop (which yes, we do have a review for), let’s make a list of things to watch if you like Nobody Wants This.
9 THINGS to WATCH if you like NOBODY WANTS THIS
BLESS this MESS
This is a former ABC comedy that follows a married couple who make a big life change and move from the bustling city to the middle of nowheresville. The concept of this one I liken to the Netflix show because it’s the idea of people who don’t “fit” trying to make a lifestyle they come to love work. If you want another kind of (but may not really) connection, Dax Shepard stars who is married to Kristen Bell.
Stream, at publication, with Hulu; or digitally purchase on places like Prime Video
DHARMA & GREG
This is a show I don’t see anyone talking about. It’s from the 90s and was once popular given its five seasons, but everyone seems to talk about something like New Girl when it comes to ½ shows. This one follows two people who are total opposites and despite this, they impulsively marry which then leads to all kinds of challenges from navigating living space to new family.

At present (despite this streaming relatively recently), this show isn’t available to stream
GAVIN and STACY
A British comedy, this one follows a couple who fall in love and in that must blend their lives and friends to fit their new romance. The cast has Matthew Horne (from Agatha Raisin) and Joanna Page (from 1999’s David Copperfield) as well as James Corden.
Stream, at publication, with BritBox or Peacock; or digitally purchase on places like Prime Video
HIM and HER
This sitcom has Russell Tovey in the co-starring (aka “him” role) in a story that is described as being less ab out the “pretty” of a relationship and more about the “warts and all” of the romance between 20-somethings.
Stream, at publication, with Pluto; or search places like Amazon for region two DVD sets
MANHATTAN LOVE STORY
This 2014 ABC comedy had a mere 11 episodes but followed the dating life of a woman and man through “unfiltered” inner monologue. I think I saw one episode but didn’t love it enough to keep up. Still, if it were somewhere to stream, I’d probably binge the show, just for giggles.

MARRY ME
Not to be confused with a 2010 movie miniseries event or the Jennifer Lopez feature, this 2014 show is a Casey Wilson and Ken Marino pairing about a couple in a lengthy commitment who finally get engaged. Only their friends and different personalities may prove to be their undoing. So again, like other of these, not any kind of exact match but still maybe a fun fit of things to watch like Nobody Wants This.

NEW GIRL
This is an adorable sitcom that really has nothing to do with Nobody Wants This. The similarity is about it following a group of people (I think in this scenario they are meant to be 20-somethings) who really don’t know what they’re doing so the show does have that kind of quirkiness that the Netflix dramedy also boasts.

Stream, at publication, with Hulu or Peacock; or digitally purchase on places like Prime Video
REV.
This one gets a mention because it’s about “misadventures” of a vicar (not a rabbi, I know, but it’s a lead who has a calling), his wife and the group of people in his parish. The series is British and has Tom Hallander, Olivia Coleman and Lucy Liemann (who is now on The Marlow Murder Club) As a fun aside, Hugh Bonneville has a guest arc too!
Stream, at publication, with BritBox; or digitally purchase on places like Prime Video
TROPHY WIFE
Only getting a two-season run, this comedy did get some love. Adding it to this list because its relationship is one that looks different. It follows a man who marries a younger woman with kids and two exes who are a daily part of his life even as his new wife meshes her life with his – and that of her step kids (which yes includes her husband’s exes!).

FILMS to consider
KEEPING the FAITH
This one feels very on brand with things to watch like Nobody Wants This. It features Jenna Elfman in the leading lady role playing opposite leading men Ben Stiller and Edward Norton, one is a rabbi and one a Catholic priest. The trio were the best of friends as children and reunite again as adults where there forms a very curious – and complicated, love triangle. The film is surprisingly fun, but like anything, I’m sure it’s one that may rub some viewers the wrong way.

Digitally purchase the film on places like Prime Video; or search somewhere like Amazon for DVD copies.
VIVACIOUS LADY
Am I adding this title as a late addition? Yes, yes I am. But honestly, it’s too cute not to add. The film doesn’t have anything to do with faith, but it is very much a rom-com about a couple that no one wishes to see succeed. the 1938 film has James Stewart as as straight-laced professor who falls head over heels in love with Ginger Rogers, a woman who sings at a nightclub. Naturally, when he brings her home (with stars in his eyes!), he forgets the conflict it may cause with his prim and proper parents.
Stream, at publication, with HBO Max (the film is about to leave) or the Disney+ / Hulu / Max bundle (and is likely to disappear from here too); or digitally purchase on places like Prime Video
