Book Releases to Be Excited For! September 2020

I’m doing something different today and going to spotlight a few of the upcoming September 2020 book releases I’m excited for. Why am I doing this? Well, I cannot quite publish what I have on my editorial calendar today (that will be pushed, likely to Saturday) and so I realized I had to come up with something different. That is one thing. Secondly, I did use to publish a kind of new book release post for a while some two years ago before time got in the way and I let it go. Despite this, look at upcoming books to be excited about is forever something I’m ready (and willing!) to fangirl over.

LIST | Favorite (and Non-Favorite) Books That Should be on Netflix

Pretty sure these are all contemporary, across the secular (adult and YA) and inspirational genres. Nonetheless, hopefully, there’s a nice variety, though I realize they’re likely to seem the same since I’m all about this genre.

New September 2020 Book Releases

1: The Inheritance Games

When: September 1 2020 | By: Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Why: I’m not the biggest fan of Knives Out despite being sure I would be, so the fact that this one likens itself to that may be something of a warning sign. Still, I’m curious about this new YA mystery about a high school girl, Avery, who suddenly inherits the vast fortune of a man she doesn’t know. Needless to say, a serious of puzzles and mysterious clues begin to play out. Goodreads

2: Recommended for You

When: September 1 2020 | By: Laura Silverman

Why: This one has the potential to be “all the feels” with a heroine who works at a small book shop called Once Upon, and also for me by being likened (this seems super popular just now!) to the book To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Goodreads

3: Until I Met You

When: September 8 2020 | By: Tari Faris

Why: I really enjoyed the novella Faris wrote that accompanies this Restoring Heritage series, but then didn’t love book one. Still, I’m all ready to read book two in the hopes it recaptures some of the charm of the novella; the book does follow a librarian, so we can hope it does. Goodreads

4: Well Played

When: September 22 2020 | By: Jen DeLuca

Why: Is it odd that I’m excited for this one when I haven’t even read its prequel, Well Met? Suffice to say I could detest that first book and therefore, would lose interest in this one. But, well, for now, the book is making this list, whether or not I’ll regret this remains to be seen. Goodreads

5: Far from Normal

When: September 22 2020 | By: Becky Wallace

Why: This one has me hooked with its “Devil Wears Prada-inspired” tagline. I. AM. HERE. FOR. THIS. Have you read any of Becky’s novels? Goodreads

6: The Return

When: September 29 2020 | By: Nicholas Sparks

Why: It’s been a minute since I read a novel by Nicholas Sparks, but despite the controversy that always follows him, I have liked his books. Are they perfect? Nope. But I’d argue there’s always something we don’t love about a book. That said, this one involves a Navy doctor trying to heal, the local he falls in love with and a “sullen” teenager named Callie. New September 2020 Book Releases [I’m Curious About]

These are the two titles I’m unsure about, but they sound interesting…

1: Not Your Own #LoveStory

When: September 1 2020 | By: Sonia Hartl

Why: This one plays on the whole Youtube trend with a heroine who has a channel, but she doesn’t really become famous until she becomes involved in an unplanned “meet-cute” at a baseball game. Goodreads

2: She Gets that From Me

When: September 22 2020 | By: Robin Wells

Why: This one follows a woman who must step in to raise her friend’s three-year-old daughter. Further complicating things is the addition of Lily’s biological dad, and his wife, who has been unable to have children. Goodreads
