October will be the release month for the second season of the immensely popular Nobody Wants This Netflix romance dramedy. Season one followed Kristen Bell’s Joanne and Adam Brody’s Noah, two people unlucky (so far) in love who meet and instantly feel a connection. Sadly, Joanne ends things when she believes their differing backgrounds and families will never let them be happy. The show was an audience hit and will be back for that second season this autumn.

This past week, the Great American Family channel announced a second exclusive (third if you count the second season drop of When Hope Calls) show. This time, it’s a show following in the footsteps of things like Heartland or Ransom Canyon (though this will be a very TV-G show by comparison). The show is called Crossroad Springs and will drop on PureFlix to stream August 28th before making its network debut on the 31st.

The story will center on “the Hamilton family, adult siblings James and Janet, their aging family members, dad, Willis, and Aunt Amy, who are eking out a living on Hamilton Ranch with financial hardships and staffing shortages. James, a pastor in Chicago, and Janet, an ER doctor in a neighboring town, feel called to return home to help the family. Once there, the siblings encounter the son of the owner of the neighboring farm, Daniel Newman, who are all wary of each other due to a generational feud between the families.” The cast will include Jonathan Stoddard, Emily Alatato, Shaun Johnston, Brittany Underwood, Jesse Hutch, and Erin Agostino.

If you love the comedies (and romcoms!) Netflix has been dropping, you’ll be glad to know that September 12th will introduce fans to another one. This one has Miranda Cosgrove in the lead (prior to this, Sofia Carson led a handful of their lighter fare) as a woman who agrees to be a part of a dating show, assuming it takes place in THE Paris only to learn that it actually is filming in Paris, Texas! The film is called The Wrong Paris and will co-star Pierson Fode. Janeen Damisn will direct, and co-stars include Madison Pettis, Madeleine Arthur, Frances Fisher, and Torrance Coombs.
