News broke this week that Hallmark is adapting another limited series, presumably in the same tradition as their seasonal fare Twelve Dates ‘Til Christmas. This time, they are adapting the Jen McKinley novel Paris is Always a Good Idea. The series will be a Hallmark+ exclusive. No specific release date was given, but presumably, the timetable is later this year. Lacey Chabert, the favorite with Hallmark fans, will star. Filming is set to begin in Spain and Paris soon.
The news broke this week that Masterpiece’s Miss Scarlet will return for a seventh and final season. After this, the series will conclude its run, which should give the cast and creator Rachael New a chance to wrap up everyone’s stories well. The PBS show made this announcement on its official website and about the seventh season it reads, in part, as follows:
LIST | THE LOVE STORY OF ELIZA SCARLET AND ALEXANDER BLAKE FROM ‘MISS SCARLET’
In Miss Scarlet Season 7, the final season, Eliza Scarlet has found love, but with it comes a new set of challenges, both on a professional and personal level. As she faces mounting pressures both at work and at home, she is reunited with familiar friendly faces, as well as a powerful new crime boss who has arrived in town – and it’s not who you might expect. Meanwhile, Blake’s promotion brings its own complications, as he finds himself answering to a surprising new boss with whom he shares a complicated history. Season 7 raises the stakes, deepens the drama, and brings Eliza and Blake’s journey to a thrilling and satisfying close. – via PBS
Filming is currently underway for this seventh season, and hopes are high that going into these final episodes (which will be the usual six) means a complete ending will be the gift for fans and characters alike.

LAST things
- During its fourth season (set to debut on CW in April), Scott Patterson, who is best known for his role in Gilmore Girls, will not return to Sullivan’s Crossing. This is due to creative differences according to a statement by Patterson.
- ABC handed four big Fall 2026 season renewals to three of their dramas and one comedy. 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville plus High Potential are all slated to be back for their respective tenth, second, and third seasons. Abbott Elementary also received a sixth season renewal.
- Netflix’s big remake, Little House on the Prairie will debut its first season July of 2026, but the streamer already handed the drama, which is described as “a hopeful family drama, epic survival tale, and origin story of the American West, this fresh adaptation offers a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those who shaped the frontier.”
- Via her social media page, Lynn Painter, author of young adult and adult fiction, announces that her novel Fake Skating will be getting a feature film adaptation.
