MOTHER’S DAY TV EPISODES TO ENJOY

Many other such lists like this aside, our series wouldn’t be complete without one that honors mom. As today is that day, the day to honor mom or the woman in our life who we think of as a mentor or mom, we have to curate something to honor them. Even if it is simply a mother’s dad TV episode list, because sometimes we all need a bit of fun.

This is precisely what we hope to do with this list – have fun. So our list isn’t going to be long because there aren’t many, at least not that I can find, episodes centering around Mother’s Day. This seems like a missed opportunity, but what do I know about TV writing? Nothing. Either way, we’re going to jump in and see what surfaces. But first, just as a quick shout out.

Mom, thanks so much for all you do, for listening and being there. For loving me and perhaps most importantly right now, for having such patience with me. You’re the best and thank you for being my mom every day.

Let’s find out what shows have given mom a nod or two.

MOTHER’S DAY TV EPISODE LIST

Ps: we also have three lists of favorite TV mothers from 2020, 2021, and 2022; and two lists of movies to watch with mom, one from 2020 and another from 2022.

FULL HOUSE, ‘A DATE WITH FATE’

EPISODE: Season Seven, Episode 22

From all that I read, the Mother’s Day story in this episode is the “b plot,” but I also read that the story that is here is super sweet.

GOOD TIMES, ‘A MATTER OF MOTHERS’

EPISODE: Season Six, Episode 20

I haven’t ever seen this show, but this episode sounds really sweet. This one follows Penny, a girl who’s birth mother plots to get her back from the loving adoptive mother who cares for her.

HAPPILY DIVORCED, ‘MOTHER’S DAY’

Fran forgets reservations to celebrate her fun in this comedy, so she decides to spend the day with her soon realizing their idea of fun is quite different.

HOME IMPROVEMENT, ‘TO BUILD OR NOT TO BUILD’

EPISODE: Season Two, Episode 23

If I remember from my earlier reading for this list, the classic comedy follows Tim takes his wife out for a special dinner while the boys try to make her some gifts.

JANE THE VIRGIN, ‘CHAPTER 42’

EPISODE: Season Two, Episode 20

All about Jane celebrating her first Mother’s Day and the “ups and downs” of family and all this day means. I didn’t ever finish watching this TV show, but for those of you who saw it all the way, is it worth a watch?

MAD ABOUT YOU, ‘MOTHER’S DAY’

EPISODE: Season Six, Episode 20

This chronicles Jamie’s first day as a mom and while I haven’t seen this episode, knowing the brand of comedy this show has, I’m sure it’s ultimately a fun episode.

THE NANNY, ‘I DON’T REMEMBER MAMA’

EPISODE: Season One, Episode 22

I can vaguely remember this one. It’s all about Fran helping her charges, especially Gracie the description reads, remember the mother they loved and reminding everyone it’s good and can be joyful to remember her.

RAISING HOPE, ‘MOTHER’S DAY’

EPISODE: Season Three, Episode 22

This episode, and show in general, will likely either run most the wrong way, or make them laugh. With exception to one or two things, I tend to laugh through most of this. This episode is about finding their grandmother’s mother, a woman they thought was already gone.

TROPHY WIFE, ‘MOTHER’S DAY’

EPISODE: Season One, Episode 22

This show made me laugh. It wasn’t on for long and I can sort of remember everyone being disappointed by its one and done season run. When I binged it a year or so ago, I understood why it had this effect.

Have you seen any of these episodes or TV shows? Do you think the TV industry could create funny stories with the Mother’s Day plot? Which ones am I missing that I should use for next year? What TV shows do you think have the best comedy? Comment all of your thoughts below! Let’s talk.
