JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2023 RECAP: STEPPING INTO CHANGE

Hello, there! Back at it with our first of 2023 recap of content in our normal two-month combination. This particular two month feature is for our January and February 2023 recap. We put these together as a way to look back at the happenings (usually only in the website’s life since I do nothing cool) and share what we enjoyed putting together.

It’s the third month of 2023, yes it is, and while some of us do like winter, it’s nice to know, more spring like weather will reawaken everything. First before we get to the recap part, we’re first going to talk about the changed here.

A 2.0 REBRAND CHANGE AND LOOK

So in the past month, we finally went ahead with our little “rebrand” which has been in contemplation since fall of 2022. It was also one of those things to keep shoving aside because it didn’t seem “important” or maybe, just wasn’t “ready” and therefore I didn’t want to do anything to challenge the norm. However, finally I did put it out in into the world. It was a long process, and not everything is final yet, so there’s still dust to clean up, but I’m hoping this sticks because the “getting here” was long and annoying.

This is the new homepage when you type in the URL. You’ll see the welcome and introduction message with a link to “read more” about this space. Our navigation menu is at the top of the page, along with a search bar.

Scroll down and you’ll find “all the latest.” From here, you can click the “all the latest” text, or the “latest content” section to find all of the most current content. Or this row in-between represents our most recent six publications. Hover over the image to see the post or review headline.

If you click “all the latest” or “new” sections, you’ll be taken to a page which is the standard, normal and former “home page.” I’m hoping to change this up yet but for now, the usual, with minor tweaks is all we have.

Returning to our home page, our next sections talk about “culture” and the things we discuss here; scroll down and we have links for our period drama archives and reviews; finally, we put the spotlight on some Hallmark content.

Our next section is a newsletter and RSS sign up, some social media links and a link to “learn more about us.”

Finally we have our Instagram section as well as a secondary latest posts lineup.

I hope this is a helpful little “navigation” look through the content. Like I said, there’s dust to clean up yet and not everything is final, but for now, we’ve made some waves towards that change.
