Welcome back in as we’re awaiting 2024’s arrival. This marks not only a New Year, but our final recap of this year, too. May I just say, I’m not well. How is 2023 gone already? While we may all ponder this and wonder, in happier queries, I wonder what plans do you have in this coming year? As the New Year isn’t our topic, let’s go through our usual motions which is to look at the las two months of content here. So this is a November and December 2023 recap of content.

1: [DECEMBER] 5 OF THE UNIQUE CHRISTMAS MOVIES YOU CAN WATCH THIS YEAR | Sharing a few of the Christmas movies that I’d seen, and were slightly more unique!

2: [NOVEMBER] 20 YEARS LATER: ‘LOVE ACTUALLY’ MOVIE QUIZ | Haven’t ever seen this movie, but I had to publish a celebratory quiz nonetheless.

3: [NOVEMBER] DOES THE VIEWER WANT LESS SMUT IN TV SHOWS? | Wrote this after reading an interesting stat. Not sure if the survey is accurate, but the idea that modern viewers are weary of all the smut in TV shows does intrigue me.

4: [NOVEMBER] ‘EXMAS’: THE UNPREDICTABLE FREEVEE CHRISTMAS MOVIE | Silly, but also (weirdly) fun Christmas movie.

5: [DECEMBER] ‘THE FAMILY PLAN’: APPLE TV+’S ACTION COMEDY | One of the rare non-Christmas movie reviews we published, this comedy is lots of fun if you like action movies, but don’t always want them to be too serious.

6: [NOVEMBER] ‘THE HOLIDAY SHIFT’: A CUTE ROKU FIVE-PART SERIAL | A super cute five-part TV serial that unexpectedly surprised me.

7: [DECEMBER] IF YOU LIKE APPLE TV’S ‘THE BUCCANEERS,’ TRY THESE PERIOD DRAMAS | Did you like The Buccaneers?

8: [DECEMBER] ‘MY LIFE WITH THE WALTER BOYS,’ SERIES ONE: ANOTHER TEEN DRAMA ADAPTATION | Not sure if this was well liked, but it does have a season season order, so, there is that. I didn’t love the ending, but not for the reason you may assume. Instead, I didn’t find it empowering as interviews said, but rather unkind and showed the character being not only ungrateful, but also not face who they hurt and having the courage to tell them upfront.

9: [DECEMBER] RANKING THE CHRISTMAS MOVIES of 2023: PART ONE | Split our rankings up into this, part one and a part two, which shared what we thought of the movies we’ve seen this year. (And yes, we did add edits to part two, adding in the movies we’ve seen since.)

10: [NOVEMBER] THREE ROMANTIC MOMENTS BETWEEN MARY AND MATTHEW of DOWNTON ABBEY | Seems like the ideal December addition to our OTP favorites category considering that stunning gentle snowfall scene.

11: [NOVEMBER] TEN OF THE BEST MOMENTS BETWEEN MISS PHRYNE FISHER and JACK ROBINSON (OTP FAVORITE) | LOVE this couple so much, and I think for a TV romance, their story is about as close to “perfect” as writing has gotten. Also, can we just appreciate that I posted three OTP additions in the last two months??

12: [NOVEMBER] ‘WHERE ARE YOU, CHRISTMAS?’ IS UNIQUE ARTISTIC STORYTELLING | One of the early Hallmark Christmas premieres, this one is really quite unique.

PS; we did also share our BEST OF 2023: THE FAVORITE FILM AND TV SHOWS FROM THE YEAR. We didn’t see much, or maybe the titles just didn’t stand out as much, but there’s still a few titles to give a shout-out to!
