JULY AND AUGUST 2023 RECAP: ALL OF THE CONTENT AND LIFE THINGS

Hello, everyone. Welcome back to our usual two-month recap with this, our July and August 2023 recap. Instead of monthly recaps, we switched, quite some time ago now, to a twice monthly (or six times a year) recap of content. We put these together as a way to look back at the happenings (usually only in the website’s life since I do nothing cool) and share what we enjoyed putting together.

✨JULY AND AUGUST 2023 RECAP: ALL OF THE CONTENT AND LIFE THINGS✨ #Blog #Blogger #Bloggers #Blogging #Recap #Review #MonthinReview #MonthlyRecap #MonthlyReview Share on X

We’ve turned the page on month seven and eight since last we looked at the latest content, so here we are on the precipice of autumn.

LIFE HAPPENINGS plus WEBSITE THINGS

CONTENT RECAP: Adding this again from last time, since there are several ways to keep up with our content. You can sign up for the RSS feed which sends you (in your inbox) our new publications on the daily. You can bookmark us, and visit for the daily new content or browse Pinterest. We post this, our six-time a year two month recap. Or you can now sign up for a once, twice max monthly content roundup. Just sign up here to receive it but make sure to complete the sign up steps. If you don’t see the email asking you to confirm, check your spam. In this we recap our content plus maybe share some lyrics or pop culture rumors (just for fun!) and we have limited Kindle downloads you can snag, too.

LIFE: Like always, life is boring. But I’m continuing with my (four day) daily walks and trying to find some easy at home workouts. My bigger project, apart from content here, which is always a priority, is unhauling all the things from this house. There is SO much stuff in this house in every corner and even in the attic that it feels overwhelming. But closets that are “storage” and not in use otherwise have been cleared out, old dressers that are “storage” have been cleared out and while I still have some of that to go, my big project now is sorting through photos. When you have x amount of years of photos, it’s overwhelming. But I’m weeding out doubles or photos of people I don’t know (likely because they were in boxes from my grandmother) and it is making a difference.

READING: I’m back to next to no reading again, but I did start (like four chapters) my first novel by Katherine Center this past week (so far I like it) and received a book from Revell to review, so I’d best pick that up.

»FAVORITE BLOG POSTS: JULY and AUGUST 2023 RECAP«

(Blog posts that, while not necessarily the most popular, were fun to write)

1: [JULY] 20 YEARS LATER: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL MOVIE QUIZ | We just love to celebrate these iconic movies and their anniversaries. Even if it does make us feel old.

2: [AUGUST] ‘BARBIE’: ONE FILM THAT REALLY DOESN’T DESERVE THIS FRENZY | Hate it or love it, this film is actually somewhere in the middle of what it was called (“woke” vs “conservative”).

3: [JULY] CELEBRATING ‘THE PARENT TRAP’ TWENTY-FIVE YEARS LATER | I mean we did HAVE to celebrate this one!

4: [JULY] DISNEY MOVIES YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT (OR HAVE FORGOTTEN) | The little audience I have seemed to enjoy this one. I enjoyed creating it though do wish I’d done a bit more research for other titles to include.

5: [JULY] ‘DON’T TELL MOM THE BABYSITTER’S DEAD’ IS CLASSIC SILLY 90S COMEDY | I’d never seen this movie before, and honestly, it was so much fun.

6: [AUGUST] ‘HEART OF STONE’: THE BIG NETFLIX MOVIE WHERE THINGS GO BOOM! | An entertaining full on action flick that inspired one of my opinion pieces from the last month.

7: [JULY] ‘THE LOVE PUNCH’: ONE OF THE ROMANCE MOVIES SURE TO MAKE YOU LAUGH OUT LOUD | A movie I saw MONTHS ago and finally posted up the review. So fun.

8: [JULY] ‘MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE,’ SERIES TWO IS MORE OF THE SAME | Reviewed the second season of this popular series.

9: [AUGUST] OPINION: ‘BARBIE’ ISN’T AS BAD (OR AS GOOD) AS SOCIAL MEDIA TELLS US | I do (mostly) really enjoy writing more “opinion” or discussion pieces, I just have to find my consistent stride. Like now, I don’t have any planned for the next two weeks after posting one for three or four weeks.

10: [JULY] RANKING THE VAULT SONGS FROM ‘SPEAK NOW: TAYLOR’S VERSION’ | Because this is tradition. We have to rank the new Taylor Swift songs or albums. Our next one will be in October with 1989.

11: [JULY] TEN MERMAID MOVIES TO ADD TO YOUR SUMMER STREAMING LIST | Because what other season do we watch a mermaid movie in?

12: [AUGUST] TWELVE SISTER RELATIONSHIPS in FILM AND TV WE LOVE | Fun to put together.

THROWBACK FAVORITES | aka the section in which we take a peek at what I was writing about or posting this time last year.
